★☆☆☆☆ The Great Mental Models
Poorly written, but the core idea of compiling useful tools like Occam’s razor in one book is solid.
★★★★☆ The Tao of Programming
A collection of poems in the style of Tao Te Ching, but about design, development, testing and maintenance. A short read with amusing philosophical references.
★★★★☆ Leadership Is Language
Excellent exploration of its subtitle “The Hidden Power of What You Say and What You Don’t.” Learned a lot. Would’ve been perfect if more concise.
★★★★★ The SaaS Playbook
Learned what makes SaaS great in practice and how to bootstrap it. Net negative churn is powerful stuff - wrote about it in a separate post.
★★★★★ The Art of Happiness
The mind can be trained to be happy. This book attempts to explain how.
★★★★★ Dune Messiah
To me, this is a book about a man with unlimited power who has no choice but to disappear into the desert and dissolve into the infinite universe. A worthy sequel to the original Dune.
